How To Make Wheat Paste

What you need:

- big bowl
- container to hold the finished paste
- water
- flour
- sugar
- mixing machine
- measuring cup
- large spoon
- kithen you can easily clean

Directions:

Prepare 1 cup (2.4 dl) of very hot water. (Not boiling.)

Make a thin mixture of 3 tablespoons (45 ml) of wheat flour and cold water (just enough to wet all the flour and make it liquid enough to pour). For larger batches an electric mixer works best.

Pour the cold mixture slowly into the hot water while stirring constantly.

Bring to a boil.

When it thickens, take off heat and allow to cool.

Add 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of sugar after the glue is cooled.

To avoid spoiling, reheat the remaining in a covered jar or container to sterilize it for storage or keep refrigerated.

Un-refrigerated wheat paste will last 7 days before going bad. The longer you wait, the worse it will smell and adhere.

Wheat flour also includes white flour.

To make approximately 2.5 gallons here is my recipe:

35 cups of water
6.5 cups flour
2 ¼ cups sugar
